I tried these out last year and found them to be pretty much the ideal heavy-duty casual cargo shorts. I would not exactly call them tactical, but pocket holsters work great in pockets and in the cargo pockets. I have 4 pair from last summer that are still kicking and I just ordered 2 pair in military green. The button is not sewn-on, it is riveted through the fabric. Cargo pockets are well placed and actually work. Pockets are sturdy and deep enough that stuff doesn't fall out in the car or in the recliner. Cell phone pocket is well placed and useful. These are a bit more expensive than I usually spend on shorts, but they actually last and are well engineered, and they are worth it.
