This isn't a 4 star item, but it's not a 3 star either. It's the kind of product I wish I could give 3.5 to. It's difficult to install with the parts they provide, but after replacing those parts for more suitable ones I can say I am fairly pleased with this carrier and I'm considering purchasing another for the opposite side of my quad (Grizzly 450).

Pro's:

-More heavy duty than I had expected.
-Fits fairly large items. I fit a 5 gallon gas can in mine with a few inches to spare on one side.
-Allows for rack luggage to still be used on top of main mounting plate.
-Adjustable: albeit a little funky, it isn't very hard to do. I highly recommend finding some locking nylon wing nuts to aid in the ease of adjustment, but those aren't the easiest nuts to find. Normal wing nuts may do the job but I'm not going to trust them not to unscrew themselves so I ordered some off the internet.

Con's:

-Though it's heavy duty, the design could still use additional reinforcement to keep it from bouncing. Eventually welds will break under that kind of stress. I'll update this review after I've put many miles on it to see if I still have this impression.

-Definitely could use a quick detach solution for removing the basket. Again I recommend the locking nylon wing nuts.

-Will cause damage. The adjustment bolts in the basket will rub against your items and without a doubt will cause damage. I can tell they will eat through my gas can within a few hours of riding so I have to use padding. It probably wouldn't be so bad against a cooler or something stronger, but padding is still a must.

-Difficult to install:
...Some of the included bolts are wayyyy too long and they must be cut/grinded down or replaced, and I
recommend replacing them. They are not good quality (could break easily) and the heads are too small.
The long bolts either won't fit between the rack and your ATV body or they will come so close to the body they
will eventually rub a hole or do damage to it. They're simply asburd.
...The included washers are far too small to be effective. They're the same size as the undersized bolt heads,
and in fact they even fall through the mounting slots and almost fall through the mounting holes.
...The holes and slots in the main mounting plate rarely line up with any of the holes in the attachment plates.
It's also a real pain to hold the bolt head, the plate, and tighten the nut at the same time.

All of the installation issues above are easily resolved by using U-Bolts with wide washers and discarding their junk parts. The trick is to find the right sized U-Bolts. Ace Hardware is your friend. Alternatively you can use a threaded rod ("All Thread") and bend+cut it into the right sized U-Bolt. Just remember to heat the rod up before bending or it will break.
