Avon Heated Metric Cruiser Grips - Air Cushioned - Chrome XF17-9387 Review

Purchased these grips to replace my existing show chrome heated grips, so glad I did. I like how your hands do not slide on these grips at all. I always wear gloves of some sort and these grips are nice for this. I also like how the throttle grip is installed and is integrated into the cable housing. On the show chrome grips glue between the cable housing portion of the grip and the grip itself is all that holds the grip on. With these grips, they do have you glue the cable interface to the grip, but your motorcycle cable housing actually encases a lip, if you will, on the grip in order to keep the grip from coming off. This is the problem that I had with the show chrome grips, the glue wouldn't hold. They supply the glue and everything that you need. I also like how hot the grips get. Granted, I only had them on when it was about 48 degrees F, but had to have them on low. They are much warmer than my other grips. I have only been riding a week with them now and I am glad that I got them.

I now have been riding for about a year with these grips and could not be happier. I live in Michigan and try to get the most out of my season of riding, so I have been as low as 27 degrees F with these things and they are far, far better than my previous grips. I did do one thing when I first installed them that I did not mention in my original review. I used the variable control from my show chrome grips instead of the one that came with these grips. I love these grips and the ability to vary the heat the way that I like. I am not sure how well the control that came with these grips works, so if you are not liking that part of it, I would change the control. Excellent Grips!!!!
