As jeans, these seem to do fine. They fit me properly, they're nicely styled, and I've even gotten compliments on the look of them.

As riding gear, they're a bit sub-par compared to other riding denim, even in the same sub-$100 price category: the Kevlar coverage is minimal, especially in the seat; it's applied in a bikini shape leaving your hips exposed to abrasion rather than shaped like boxers as most jeans have.

The CE-rated knee armor, while well-placed (at least in my case - see other reviews) protects just the knee; my shins are on their own. And because of the padding around the armor pocket, my other armor doesn't fit under these jeans comfortably with the stock armor removed.

They lack the mesh comfort liner of most Kevlar jeans to mitigate heat transfer and help air circulation while you ride so you stay cool, so I wear these when it's a bit cooler.

These are a step-up from riding in Levis or other street denim for not much more than some people spend on fashionable jeans, but there is room for improvement; for another $20 or so you can avoid the shortcomings these have, but if price is your primary concern better these than riding unprotected.
