Motorcycle Rain Gear - Two Piece Rain Suit RS5031 XS Red Review

This suit was recommended to me by a friend, and it certainly delivered on his promise. I didn't have time to do a wet test prior to taking it along on my trip, and –�lo and behold – we hit a big storm. I whipped the suit out, tore of the tags, threw it on, and it did its part. I threw it over heavy pants and a jacket, and it had plenty of room to spare. In fact, it was a bit baggier than I'd like, but that's simply in regards to "appearance." (You know–�ya gotta look good when riding! Ha!). The extra looseness didn't cause in issues, like flapping in the wind or getting caught in/on things. It simply didn't fit tight, as a like things too, but I don't think you'll find an over-the-top rain suit that does that.

Everything seemed to seal fine. There were no quality issues. (I'll update this review if any evolve.) Everything fit snug at the seems due to the snug elastic bands. And, everything stayed dry.

Some "pros 'n cons" to consider– respectively: it's well-priced, it folds up to a very compact size, it seems to dry quickly, it has a front wallet pocket that seems to seal up well, and –�most importantly –�it keeps you dry. Downsides are that it's a bit "baggy," and it doesn't have shoulder straps (which didn't prove to be a problem, because the elastic bands held everything in place well).

Saddlebag Supports for 02+ Honda VTX1300/1800 C&F Review

Really nice supports. I was going to give it a 4 because they weren't a perfect fit. The fender rails on my 1800 c are counter sunk for the original bolts as they all should be. Only one of the bolt holes on the bracket fit into the counter sunk holes on the fender rail. I might be wrong that they are supposed to but it makes sense. If you leave a gap it's putting all the stress on the bolt instead of using mating surfaces for the majority of the support. I also had to squeeze it together a bit to get it to not bind the bolts. Maybe this set was made on a Friday so it's not perfect, BUT it works.

The reason for the 3 is because the bolts are WAY too long. Now I have a 205 car tire so it's the fattest tire you can fit in there. Even still this part is called out for the Honda VTX 1800 C&F. The factory bolts are made to fit flush with the nuts welded inside the fender. The bolts with these brackets stick out far enough it's risk of hitting the side wall. I tried bouncing on the bike but I was unable to tell for sure what is going on. So don't just slap this on and ride. Stick your hand under the fender and check clearance. I will be cutting the bolts down to size. If it was noted this bracket fits other bikes as well so check bolt length I would not have marked it for this. I don't know why I checked the bolts but I'm glad I did as I could have been riding 70 mph down the highway hit a bump and had a bolt chew through the side wall. NOT COOL!

But bottom line they work, nothing makes me want to return it, and I would have no problem recommending this to anyone with a VTX. All problems are fixable.
