Slipstreamer HD-3 Tombstone Windshield - Tint HD-3 SMOKE Review

I have a black Harley 48 and was very concerned about how a windshield would impact the look of the bike. After seeing another Sporster with the same shield on a message board, I decided to try the slipstream tombstone screen. The dark tint and small size makes it look as if it was made with the bike during the post-war era. I love the look.

Adjusting the height and rake of the screen was a matter of trial and error in order to get the right protection. At first, my head was buffetted by the wind, but after raising the screen the max height and matching the rake to the forks of the bike, it is perfect. I feel a nice breeze when I ride (similar to the experince of riding a bicycle fast), but have none of the sensation of being the sail on a boat.

If I am looking for a screen to take me out of the elements completely, I'd probably have to go with a larger, fork-mounted windshield. But if the goal is to remove all of the discomfort of the wind, but still have the "riding in the open air" feeling, this screen is perfect.

Remember that this is an easily adjustable screen for less than $70 versus the big company screens that start at more than $300. It connects to the handle bars and requires periodic checking to make certain that the screws have not come loose. Installation time was ten minutes.

UPDATE: I have now had the screen for a little more than one year and 6000 miles. It is perfect. I'll never want another windscreen.

Great item, perfect fit, even for lower rated converters- my trailer only had the 20 amp version and this one slid right into place.
Takes up all the space now, though. It seems a lot quieter than the old one as well. As always-fast shipping with Amazon. My RV dealer had claimed the board was not available seperately....

The original board had burned out due to a screw that found it's way from the housing to the bottom of the circuit board.
The installer at the manufacturer apparently thought that 4 screws 1/2 inch screwd into particle board are enough to hold the heavy converter in place. Not if you travel gravel roads.....There might be a reason the housing has 8 pre drilled holes. However, I can't see me needing another one of these boards any time soon. Looks very well build.
