FirstGear Heated Glove Liner Black LG/XL Review

I've owned the Powerlet Heated Glove Liners as well as these gloves.
Powerlet Rapid Fire Glove Liner Kit L/XL
I've ridden in Chicago weather that went as low as -15F wind chill.
My normal commute includes 15 minutes on the highway and 30 minutes on city streets every day.
I ride a 2005 V-Strom 650.
I use these gloves with a Firstgear heated jacket liner and Firstgear Heat Troller.
I use these gloves lined under the Teknic Tornado Waterproof Gloves

Heat:

-Powerlet gloves are HOT! I would be generous with my heat troller and constantly had red burn marks on the back of my hands with the power set to about 75%. Nothing serious, but the potential to decently burn yourself is definitely there.

-Firstgear gloves are cozy. They are not as hot as Powerlet but work. That is to say, when I use the Powerlet gloves, my hands feel noticeably warm. When I use the Firstgear gloves, my hands feel comfortable on FULL power. You don't notice a hot sensation on your hands, rather, you feel comfortable. Your fingers aren't going stiff or getting cold.

-The Powerlet gloves took me deep into the cold. At -15F windchill, the powerlet held up great. If I had to guess, I would say the Firstgear would take me into 5F on my normal commute, but might not cut it in much colder weather.

Design:

-These gloves are identical in design to the Powerlet gloves. They are designed well.

Durability:

-I've used these gloves for about two months and they are holding up fine.
-After about 3 months of use, the Powerlet gloves developed a hot spot in my middle finger that gave me a blister. Returned them for warranty replacement. These gloves haven't seen such problems so far.

I gave it four stars becasue they don't put out as much heat as the Powerlet gloves, but they work great! If you're not experiencing weather as cold as I am, get these! The Powerlet gloves are great if you're fighting some real cold weather, but it's easy to burn yourself with them. The Firstgear gloves truly are warm and safe!

Chrome Forward Controls with ISO Style Pegs for Harley Davidson 2004-2013 Sportster Models Review

They arrived on time and in great condition. The chrome is gorgeous, no missing parts, and great instructions. If you are installing them your self you will need some Loctite, A slim wrench for the break rod, some hex head sockets, a Torque wrench, and Snap ring pliers.

The reason I say these are better than the Harley brand forward controls is, for one they are chrome and Harley brand only comes in black or polished. With Harley you don't get any foot pegs or shift peg, you have to reuse the stock pegs and peg mounting hardware. With this set you don't just get the pegs, you get ISO pegs that are more comfortable than stock, and help reduce vibrations from the engine and road felt through the feet.

The only problem I had was the foot peg spring washer needed to have the flat side ground down a little so the pin would line up. Nothing the good old Dremel with a sanding drum couldn't fix in about 30 seconds per washer. DO NOT TRY TO HAMMER THE PIN THROUGH, it will ruin the pin. The pin should fit through with no resistance.

Oh yeah, and they look great on my wife's '11 Superlow! Also fixed the problem she had, having to turn her foot in to far to shift. Now no problem shifting at all, and a more comfortable riding position.

First things first, this is a mushroom. With that out of the way this thing is not comfortable. It is heavy and the chin strap is more like a throat strap. The strap is very cheap feeling and cuts at the throat when worn tightly. I ended up returning it since I could not wear it comfortably.
