Slipstreamer SS-32 Falcon Windshield - 20in. - Clear SS-32-20CT Review

After looking at numerous windshield options for my '02 Honda Shadow Sabre, I decided on the Falcon SS-32, 20" tall version. I was tired of the buffeting and wind noise with the two smaller windshields I had owned. I found a good price, and received my order quickly and in perfect condition. Mounting was not difficult, once I studied the instructions and diagrams carefully. The only problem was that some of the supplied bolts seemed to be poorly threaded. It was virtually impossible to fully tighten the little Allen-heads. I ended up replacing a few of the bolts with standard stainless steel hardware-store items, for less than $2, and the supplied acorn nuts went on like silk and tightened everything right down. The Falcon lets me ride visor-up (with sunglasses) at highway speed if I want, gives the quieter protection I was seeking, and as a bonus it deflects anything that might hit a finger or knuckle thanks to the hand shield extensions. I expect to enjoy warmer hands, too, with far less wind on my fingers as the weather cools. Now I am happily cruising in comfort behind a quality product. I recommend the Slipstreamer SS-32 Falcon to anyone wanting serious protection behind a quality windsheild.

Core Zip Modular Helmet (Gloss Black, Small) Review

According to the measuring instructions to find what size you need I needed a large. It says if the circumference of your head is between 23 1/4" to 24" inches you need a large. and 24 1/4" to 25" inches you need a XL. OK, my head measures 23 3/4" inches so this helmet should fit me. It doesn't. First, it sits up too high like it has about an inch too much padding in the top but it has hardly anything for padding in the top. The worst fit is the width at the front of me ears. It's so tight, its very painfully tight on the joint of my jaws. It puts so much pressure in the area in front of my ears and down to my lower jaw its too painful to leave it on for any length of time. It was bad enough that it gave me a bad headache and there is no way that I would be able to leave it on for more than half a minute, and I doubt I could stand it for that long. It felt like I had my head in one of those mid-evil torture devices like a big bench vice that they keep screwing down tighter and tighter till it crushes your head like a melon or giant walnut.
As for its functions. The full face flip up is really nice and the built in vents for air intake in the front and out flow in the back should help keep your head cooler when riding in the summer time. I've always wanted a helmet like this one and it really bums me out that its so far undersize. I've thought about getting something like a soccer ball that I can let the air out of, stick it in the helmet and use my air compressor to pump it up and force it out a little wider where its so tight on my jaws and ears. Maybe if I leave it like that long enough it will reshape it enough that I can use it.
What it comes down to is ordering a helmet online and expecting it to fit you properly is like trying to order a pair of shoes online. Both of those items are something that you really need to be able to try on for fit and comfort before you buy them. And that's something that just cant be done when ordering those items online. There are many things that can be ordered online without having that personal touch to check for size, feel, and fit. But then there are many things that you just cant get the right fit ordering it from a picture online. This is one of them.
Overall I can recommend this helmet, if you buy it from a store where you can try on several of them and find the one that fits you comfortably. However, I cant recommend ordering one this way online. Chances are you will not get one that fits you properly &/or comfortably.

Uclear Boomless Bluetooth Powersports Helmet Communicator Review

First of all I ride a 2012 Road King with stock exhaust and standard tombstone windshield. I mounted the unit on my HJC half-helmet. The speakers fit very high on the ear flap and the adhesive on the velcro lasted thru one attemp to move it. I ended up removing a little bit of the foam in the ear flap and having my wife sew the velcro in the correct location .... approximately. This location also overlapped the zipper on the flap so she could only secure half the velcro. This was not a proble and it may actually add some flexibility to the speakers so there is less pressure on the ears. I had to do some experimenting to find the sweet-spot for the speakers so I could hear them and still be comfortable on my ears.
I will say that this technology is incredible. The unit married up to my Samsung Skyrocket no problem. I could hear the music fine up to about 70 mph, after that it depended a lot on if the wind was at my back and other ambient noise. After 80 mph forget it. What surprised me the most was the phone capability. My wife called me as I was cruising down the freeway at 80mph. I could hear her fine and she said I was crystal clear .... I could barely hear myself talk but she could hear me fine with ver little wind or traffic background noise. She was very impressed.
I purchaded the 100 Plus unit because I did not think I would use the multi-hop features but I wanted the firmware upgradeability. Looking back I probably should have just purchased the HBC200 since the price was not that much more.
